Certainly Christians have historically tended to accept the authority of the state, even if the state does not align itself with the Church (even nominally). The question Met. George begs is this: When do we know when a government no longer deserves our acceptance? Also, when or how can you know when it may be that as a Christian one may be justified in working to overthrow a government. By what means? Weighty questions indeed.
